Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, 960Tx4 / 8GB
Have a desktop in for repair but cant access the hard drive at all
and as customer wanted all photos etc kept did not want to do a reinstall

Can not also put in windows xp disc and do the repair as i do not know which version of windows xp it is or if its oem

cant get hold of customer so i have put in another hard drive and for the time being have the 30 days till activation

and i have slaved the customers own drive to backup everything.

now my question is how do i get the version and product key from the drive bearing in mind i can not run any key finder program as the drive i am trying to get it from is just a slave drive.

I do know another way but i am looking for the fastest legal way to do it
btw should add there is no sticker present on the said computer

If you get paid to repair computers you should know that you don't need to install an OS to access personal files. You could have used any NT kernel computer you have available.
