Is there any way I can get the ‘Find’ command back in the Edit pull down menu in windows explorer (I think that’s where it used to be) in windows XP? I used to use it all the time. (I am finding that all the things I loved about windows 98 have been taken away/hidden in XP…ho hum).
Thanks
DaveB

If you're referring to the find on this page, it is still in the edit pull down window. Not sure why ot wouldn't be in yours though
When all else fails beat the $%!* out of it!!!

Isn't that what the SEARCH button with the magnifying glass does? That's progress for ya.

The Search button does not do what Find (on this page) in the Edit menu is designed to do, although it's a useful button.
I would try going to Start, Run, and type sfc /scannow (space before slash). That looks for missing Windows files and restores them. Have no idea if that will solve your problem, but it's worth a try. Is anything else missing from your various menus? Did you install SP2 and did this happen only after you installed it?

Re-read his original post. He's asking about WINDOWS explorer not INTERNET explorer
There is no "Find (on this page)" menu item in the edit dropdown list of Windows Explorer in XPGive a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

Richard - You're right. But I don't see a Search magnifying glass in WE either. There is a Search in the right click dropdown in any folder. Don't know if that's what he means or not.
Now I'm wondering if he does mean IE?

In WE, press View>Toolbars and tick Standard Buttons. Gives you a "Web browser" style toolbar with "Forward/Back/Up/Search/Folders" buttons.

Yeah, I've always had that toolbar. But it's never had a Search magnifying glass in it. I suppose I could add it if I really cared. Yep, there it is in customize.

Probably depends on whether you selected the standard XP eyecandy or the Classic View for start menu when first installing.
