Find IP Number thru DSL Router

I need to find the ip number of a remote system to allow me to log in using Windows remote Desktop. (And regularly send that ip number to a host system which I can always access). I can pipe the output of IPCONFIG easily, however I have a DSL Router and I always get teh address of the router, not my external ip number. If I go to WHATISMYIP.COM I get the external ip number. Is there any way to get the external ip number via a dos command, going beyond the router? Or alternatively record the result of WHATISMYIP.COM to a file?

I use to have msn dsl and it had that stuff listed on the web based interface of the dsl modem. I got it by typing the internal address of the modem in the browser window. The internal address of the modem was listed on the web based page of the router of which you have the internal ip address.

It's freeware programme and gives you a graphical display of the DOS tracert command so you can see the complete route to a destination along with IP addresses and timings.
Very handy when you have problems accessing a site when you can see exactly where the problems or delays are occuring.
