Finalize a CD-RW

HI,

I was wondering if there was a way in XP to finalize a disc? I have a CD-RW that I want to finalize so that nothing can be added.

Is there a way to do this?

Why would you use RW ( Re-Writable) ?

I use Nero which has the feature you're looking for.

The answer to your question is NO. XP built in software will not finalize a disk be it CR-R or CD-RW. You will have to use third party burning software that offers that feature to finalize the disk. You can use Nero as mentioned above or there are several free programs that will do this as well. Google for free burning software.

I don't think you can finalize a CD-RW to prevent someone from adding to it. You can copy the contents off of it, re-format, write the modified data back and re-finalize.
