Something went wrong during the installation. As for the data on these drives (D, E,..), it is most likely still there on the drives. But you mustn't format the drives if you want to recover the data. Possible course of action is
1. Download and install any data recovery software.
2. Launch it and try to recover data off the drives in question.
3. When you successfully recover all the data to another location, format the drives and copy all the data back if needed.

A couple of questions.

First, did you install Windows original and then update to SP2?

Are the other drive letters simply partitions on the same physical hard drive or are they separate hard drives?

What are the specs of your computer or if an OEM pre-built computer, the full model?

Stating we should work faster isn't going to get your computer fixed any faster.

So you had a total of four partitions on ONE 80GB hard drive?

What was the cause of the original data corruption?

When you go to Disk Management in WinXP post what is reported for the entire hard drive.

How did you format the C partition prior to re-installing WinXP?

What file system is currently in use (FAT32 or NTFS) and what was in use on all the partitions?

What type of data is on the other three partitions?
