Files marked as archive / read-only

September 23, 2011 at 11:13:42
Specs: Windows XP
Many of my file have been marked as read-only and marked with the archive attribute in windows XP after using ubuntu, what could cause this? Did squashfs or fstab not mount the drive correctly resulting in errors? It seems to have started with a USB device then spread to other devices.

What can I do to resolve this without formatting or erasing anything?

Can't say the reason. Never happened to me and I use linux a lot.

You can either fix the files with the gui or by attrib command or might have to take owernship of the files.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
