hey everybody, 500 mp3's dissappeared and some of the songs that are left will only play on random days. I am running windows xp home ed. and i am th only one who uses the computer but i am on a university network in order to connect the internet. I have used the search function to try to find the songs but it comes up blank. Help!! thank you heather
Unfortunately, it sounds like you have a virus. If you do not have virus protection get a program and scan your HD and system. Trend Micro has a program accessible on the internet called house calls. It will scan your system and detect the presence of a virus,in case you do not have antivirus software in which case, if you do have a virus you may not be able to install fresh copy unless you eradicate it first. This is not an unusual problem on a university network.

You should get antivirus like Norton 2002 and a firewall like Zonealarm to block your ports...Exspecially since your on a network..But get a antivirus first if you dont have one..If you do have one u better update it..good luck
