files copied on CD reveals an 'e' icon

Specs: Windows XP
Need help! When I copy a folder and/or files (doesn't matter if it is a Word, Excel, jpeg, etc. type) from my computer to a CD and then open the CD each folder or file has an 'e' icon (looks like the Internet Explorer icon) on the name as if it's being displayed as an internet file or the type is internet based. If I view the folder or files via thumbnails the 'e' icon is displayed over the wording or photo. I think this is a setting problem in the system- not a folder view issue. I've put the CD in other computers and the internet 'e' does not show up as it was viewed on my computer. So I need help in changing a setting on my computer that effects files being transferred to a compact disc. I've checked out the 'Tools/Folder Options' and I can't find anything that makes a difference. Can someone give me direction??

beckya,

The Default Internet Explorer Icon is Displayed in Explorer When
a CD/DVD Disc is Opened:

This is a bug in Windows that will never be fixed, however there
is a workaround.

This behaviour happens when 'use large icons' is checked under
'Display Properties-->Effects'.

Do the following:

Right-click on the Desktop and select Properties.
Click the "Appearance" tab, then the "Advanced" button.
Click the down arrow and scroll down to "Icon".
Change the size to 47 ("use large icons" sets this value to 4).
Click OK/Apply/OK.
Restart your computer.

Edited to add: You really should edit out your e-mail address as there's alot of wackos on the Internet.

Tufenuf... thanks for the help! I took your advice and edited my posting. I also changed the icon size in Effects and in the Advanced area. Haven't checked it out- but will and get back to you. Do you know why this has happened? I was burning data & photos to a CD about a month ago and had no problem when viewing it. But now every CD I insert on this particular computer- each folder and file shows up like I stated. Even the Folders do not look like folders- they show up with an 'e'.
