Files after System Restore??

Scanreg only works with Win9x O/S unfortunately......
What files have u lost ?? The restore shouldn't have deleted any Office files etc......

I even tried F1 and got into my BIOS but couldn't find anywhere I could restore to a previous date!

It is normal to lose any programs/updates that have been installed after any system restore point, the idea being that that program/update might have messed the PC and it's registry entry is therefore removed.
But any saved docs in My Documents should still be there, u only need to re-install those progs - Office etc and u should be back to normal.
I take it XP is running OK now ??

I did a complete System Restore cuz I was frozen... now I am missing some important files, plus all the peripherals that they had installed on here :(

Any hardware installed since the restore point u chose will be lost, but re-installing the drivers for those shouldn't be a problem. What peripherals are u referring to ??
You haven't mentioned yet what type of files u 'lost' and where they were located, remember that the program will be lost, but any saved docs should still be where they were - u just can't open them yet until the software is re-installed.
Don't panic - I'm sure ur boss will understand !!

you should be able to unrestore your restore date. go back to system restore and choose a date before you restored it.

Peripherals were the printer, digital camera, scanner...
I tried to go to pick a different Restore date, but all I am getting is today AFTER I did a complete System Restore! F10 on this Compaq!

Sounds like you used the system restore disks or folder supplied by compaQ In that case you have formatted your HD and yes, You've lost them. Unless you are willing to spend a lot of money to some company to attemtp to restore your files, forget about it and carry on
