I have an avi that came from edonkey! the d/l finished but like sometimes before it never moved the file from temp to complete. I moved it manually to my documents to watch the movie right away. But now i cannot move or even delete this file at all. Constant error of being used by another process. I have tried to change the exstension and rename the file and close all associated programmes i.e power dvd or wmp from the task manager and even if i copy the file the original deletes but the copy won't...hehe. Is there maybe softwear that can tell me what this file may be dependent on? any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

Boot your machine in safe mode with command prompt. You should be able to delete from there. Once you have done that and rebooted. Do a thorough virus and trojan scan.
Thanks for your idea but i would rather not delete file if possible...this cannot be a trojan as nothing has asked permission to access net in over 2 weeks...If i remember rightly visual basic had a dependancy walker? Is there a standalone softwear that can do this? I need to find out wtf this file is relying on apart from the obvious!
