Anyone here knows how to send/receive file to MSN friends using Pidgin(also known as Gaim). I can't figure out how to make this function working. On the Pidgin website, they say the send/receive file is through server only. What does that mean?
The following is what my friend and I did to test Pidgin: I installed Pidgin on my PC and tried to send a file to a friend on MSN. My friend said no thing happened on his side. Then he tried to send a file to me. Also no thing happened on my side. However we can send text message each other.

Better use Digsby or aMSN instead of pidgin. aMSN is open source and a clone of msn, if u want to interact with msn contacts. For multi-protocol IM, use Digsby, quite better than pidgin.
