Okay, here's the setup. I have a PC with all my data on it, about 40GB or so in My Documents which is shared. I bought a laptop and wish to sync any changes between the two. My Documents points to U: which is a mapping of My Documents on the PC. Both systems run Windows XP. I also wish to be able to use this data offline. Windows' Offline Files is good but I have to set it up in a manner that all my files are situated on the server (my PC) until which time my laptop cannot connect to it. So whenever I'm in my own home or relatively close to it, all my data is being pulled from my PC, which can be painfully slow if I'm at my friend's place and still able to get 1-2 bars from my own connection at home. The point is, is there a better way for me to achieve what I want? Is there software that can run as a service or in the background that will synchronize on log on and log off? I've tried Sync Back before and it's a pain to use, it doesn't really work well and ends up using lots of bandwidth and hard drive use for nothing.
