file sharing with no password

I am having a problem sharing files with no password. I like having passwords on most of my shared files, but I would like to have one folder without any password that anyone can access. However when someone connects to my computer it asks them for a password right off (without allowning them to view individual shares) This means that all shares are governed by a password, and then individual sharing permissions take effect after. I have followed these steps : http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/58896.html but none of them have helped.

if you are connecting xp to xp what you need to do is make sure that you have the same "user" account and "password" on each machine, the machine that is trying to access the data must be logged in under that user and pass, but the machine that has the info saved on it can be logged in under any user name and pass...so basically add to the machine that has the info on it the user name and pass that the other machine is logging in as, if there is no pass, then just add the user...make sense?

yes, but this is quite hard with a network of like 10-20 different people. I have noticed most of the other users dont require a password when you remotely accessing them, but I think they are using simple file sharing. Although on some things I like having more control over permissions. Is there a way I can use the guest account to do this?
