I have a FTP Server running on my Windows XP, and I want to make it where when I add a user to the FTP users list, I can have it where his/her folder has a quota/size limit. The FTP Server I use (FileZilla) doesn't use regular Windows XP users, so XP's Disk Quota option will not work. So what I want to do is install File Server Resource Manager as a Windows Component. I went to Add/Remove Windows Components, went to Management and Monitoring Tools, and it didn't have it under there. How can I install it, or make this quota thing happen?

I think you have to install a Microsoft Server to be able to install the FSRM.

FSRM is an optional component of Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2, not Windows XP Pro, XP Home, or WMCE.

Ok then. Is there a way to get around that/install the component from a windows 2003 component disk. Or, is there an alternative for folder quotas?

I guess there is. FSRM (fsrmgmt.exe) can be downloaded as a standalone app from the following URL. I've not tried it myself so I cannot say if it will work with XP.

Ok, I got it to install. But it says it can't connect to the File Server Resource Manager Service.
