Hi,
I did a little experiment to avoid viruses from infecting my pen drive.
Since all viruses that enters the pen drive automatically have this "autorun.inf" file in common, I decided to make an "autorun.inf" file ( which will also display icon to my pendrive) which cannot be overwritten by the "autorun.inf" of viruses.
I made the file in my Pen Drive, and gave it Permissions by the Linux program for windows ( since I knew giving file permissions through that software ) .
I gave "read" permissions & removed "write" & "execute" permissions from the file.
But when I tried overwriting the file with another "autorun.inf" , it happened. :(
The file was also getting deleted when I tried.
So how can I make an "autorun.inf" which cannot be deleted or overwritten by anyone ??
Please Guide :(~~Psychedelic~~

Why not just make the file read-only? Or, make sure you only use the drive on machines that are running up-to-date anti-virus program?

Hi Jennifer,
I made it a "read-only" file, but still it could be overwritten and deleted. :(
Actually most of th time my Bro uses the pen Drive, who is not much sound in these virus things, and ends up infecting it.
I myself have up-to-date Antivirus though. :)
thanx. :)
