Hi, I am new in using Window XP & Office XP. Recently, I have upgraded all my LAN's clients with window XP & office XP. And I alway face this problem when access Word document: I open a word file for editing, frequently happen with sudden pop up message of "File Permission Error", when I click OK, the document will be closed & whatever edited will not be saved, but lucky there is recovery feature. This problem realy make me headache, anyone know the root cause ?? Kindly help me ........Million thanks.
We are experiencing the very same thing with similar circumstances. The problem you describe occurs for our users when two people have the same file open. The underlying problem is that they are not receiving 'file in use' messages which is what I was looking for in my search when I saw your post. We have W2K servers and WXP Pro workstations running Office XP.
