Hi there. I have a Cubase (music production software) file that refuses to open (and is unfortunately VERY important to me). All of the other Cubase project file icons have turned to the default file icon, and it's impossible to open any of them from outside of the program (ie: they won't open with Open With: Cubase, or double-clicking).
When you try to do something like that, you get the errors "'File path' is not a valid Win32 Application!" and "'File name' is a not a valid project file!" for the specific file that won't work at all.
Is this a registry error, file path issue, file corruption, or a nasty?
Sorry for such a specific question. I tried the company's customer support and forums, but both suck.
Hi, I'm Shalebot.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the program, saving that important file first, of course, just in case ?

You might try a repair of Cubase. In add/remove programs select Cubase and choose remove. You may get a choice to remove or repair. Try repair. You may have already done the following butyou could associate the file extension to "Open with".
Select the correct drive> tools> folder options> file types. If the file extension associated with Cubase isn't listed add it and choose the program to open files with that extension. Kellys korner may be of some help.

Excellent advice above.
"'File name' is a not a valid project file!"
It sounds like the one file that won't open at all, might be corrupted.

Thanks for the help everyone. I've tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling, and the one file still refuses to work. Assuming it's damaged / corrupted, is there anything I can do to it?
