File Arrangement Problems

Hi, I have this weird problem where when I open up files from any application, all the files in a given directory are arranged according to size order, even if I change it to name order, they are always back to size order if I leave that directory. Does anyone know how I can once again have the arrangements permanently set to name order?

in your file options check the option open all folders like current.
