Hi there, I have 2 hdd's, each with a windows XP install. I want to boot into one of the xp's and get files from the other win xp install's 'my documents' area, which is secured with level 1. How can i grant myself access to these documents?

basically, C:\ and E:\ are windows installs, and i want to boot into E:\ and transfer files from C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\*.* to E:\WHERE_EVER\HERE..

thanks for you help!

Dave

You didn't read the MSKB thoroughly. If you did it you knew you would have to boot to safe mode to access the security tab. Please read it again.

ahhh brilliant! i didnt not have to use safe mode, as I am using windows xp professional, but I did have to disable simple file sharing.

Thanks so much! :D
