I'm getting to the stage where i'm going to throw this machine out of my window.

Lately, i've been getting random blue screen crashes - at any time. For no apparent reason! (although there obviously is one) Usually on a blue screen you can see the error at the top and which file is causing it, but the screen scrolls down a bit so you can just read the troubleshooting information (which is the same every time, no help really)

I'm at a bit of a loss really. As I say, it seems totally random, so I can't make it happen. I also doubt it's an overheating issue, as it's only started recently, everything was fine. So, where do I start?

Cheers,

Alex

It wont be overheating as you say because you would not get a blue screen but just random reboots.

First of all I would try and re-install windows. If you start getting blue screens when installing then you can bet your bottom dollar that it'll be a hardware error. Easiest thing first is to move the memory around or take one stick out (depending on how many sticks you have)

Changing CPU, motherboard, graphics card even sometimes the PSU who knows!

Good luck.

Post the error and someone may be able to ID the cause of it, possibly just a bad driver.

Hi, thanks both for the replies.

In response to the post from Totty, I would have originally done this, but as I said in my post, the blue screen comes up and instantly scrolls down very quickly - too quick to read anyway. Is there any other way of obtaining the error message which would have been on the screen?

Cheers,

I did just get a blue screen, and managed to see the error this time, which was BAD_POOL_CALLER, although i've had these in the past and i'm not sure if this is linked to the other blue screens I've been having recently. What does this error mean??

Thanks,
Alex
