If you know where Favorites are located in Vista, (I don't have Vista so I don't know the location) you should be able to simply COPY them from (XP) C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Favorites to the Vista location.
It's a good day when you learn something

WinXP doesn't natively have Bookmarks, to my knowledge. You may have a toolbar from yahoo or google installed. Installing that same toolbar in Vista and signing in to your account should bring them up.

To OtheHill:
Win XP and IE 6 /7/ 8/ uses the term Favorites instead of Firefox or Opera's Bookmarks.
Telling someone to install the Yahoo toolbar is just short off criminal as well... 8)

I'm assuming that your XP is a Desk top PC, we know Vista is on your laptop.
If you have a home Network, you can use that to copy XP Favorites Folder, or just the contents, to Vista ???
Otherwise;
In Win XP, using Windows Explorer, locate the Favorites Folder in C:/Windows. Copy the folder to a USB flash Drive/external HDD, or burn to CDR/CDRW (waste of a CD, but will work).
Floppys will work if both machines have Floppy Drive and Favorites is 1.44mb or less.
Locate the corresponding Vista Folder and copy/paste or move the Favorites Folder from the removable Media to the corresponding Vista Folder.
If you do not want the extra Folder in Vista ???, Open the Favorites Folder and copy/Paste the contents to Vista???, then delete the Folder after you verify the contents are now in Vista???
This is being done in Windows so it doesn't matter what lable the Browser ( IE, Fire Fox, Opera etc..) uses, it's already connecting with the appropriate Vista location. All you're doing is adding content to the same location.
Hope this helps. If not, feel free to properly chastize me. :)
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
