a few weeks ago, without my doing anything i remember, my IE favorites list appeared differently. when i clicked on favorites, only the last few folders that i accessed appeared and under them only the last few sites that i went to. since i have over a 1000 favorites, i grew to like this feature, then a few days ago, it just disappeared. seems like it should be easy to add/remove this, but i can't find any info. what was it and how do i add it again? thanks

1: Start > Run, copy & paste > GPEDIT.MSC into > Open: & press Enter.
2: Go to Browser menu's.
3: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Browser menus
4: Go to > Hide Favorites menu & make sure > Not configured is selected.

thanks for reply.
interesting area to explore,
but 'not configured' was already selected for all entries.so this is not the solution.

how about a system restore back to before the problem?
