I installed a driver for my SigmaTel Audio device (which came with my VAIO) and it has completely disabled my sound and I can t work around it to uninstall it or rollback. How can I get my default driver back?

Ok to remove if you cannot thur add/remove do this :goto device manager :
Start
(Right-click) My Computer
- Click ManageLeft Click "Device Manager" (on the left)
now in the right window you'll see a bunch of devices pop up find "Sound, video and game controllers) - click on the + you'll see now pop out a bunch of "sound related items (drivers) , simply find the sigmaltel , right click on it , left-click Properties
now the window will pop up , click Uninstall
\\2Question to you is did you get the Sigmatel audio drive from Sonys Support page or just install from windows update?
Sigmatel Audio Device is probably an AC'97 driver
problem is theres a bunch that can install that aren't the right ones from other brands:
(the ones i know)
Realtek
SoundMAX
C-MEDIA
Sigmatelare all ac'97 and you could of install the wrong one but in any case you should of got the right one if you went to http://esupport.sony.com/perl/selec...
good luck!
