i am installing win xp on a hard drive, before it completes installation, i keep getting random error messages, such as stop 000021a and 0000050, these all point to probs with a ervice pack update to NT 4... as well as probs with WinLogon...
I find it strange as the O/S has not been fully installed as to why/how im getting these errors...Any info concerning this would be most appreciated, as well as how do i progress from here... have to admit its got me stumped...
Cheers,
Kalsavik

Need more info. Are you installing over the top of an existing installation? In other words, what (if anything) was on the HDD before you started?

You are partially right on your stop errors. Actually the 0x50 usually resorts to a memory faiure which will inturn give you an access violation in winlogon.
Straight from M$ on resolutions:The faulty RAM could be located in any of several areas, including the secondary RAM cache, the video RAM, or the computer's main memory. To determine where the faulty RAM is located, use the following steps:
Disable all caching on your computer, including the CPU cache and L2 cache, in the computer's CMOS settings. For information about how to use your computer's CMOS configuration tool, please refer to your computer's documentation. If you can successfully install Windows after disabling all caching, try re-enabling each cache, one at a time, to determine the area in which the faulty RAM is located. If you still receive the error message, continue to the next step.
Temporarily replace your video adapter. If you can install Windows after replacing the video adapter, the video adapter you replaced is faulty.
Temporarily replace the main memory installed in your computerIN THE MATTERS OF STYLE,
