Comment:

I have a celeron 541mhz cpu with 83mhz FSB speed,256mb sdram and am running XP PRO.
On sunday i am going to buy a new motherboard that enables 266 mhz fsb and a 1.5mhz celeron processer.
My current machine seems pretty fast although at the lower end of the spec scale.
Will i notice much of a difference with the new MOBO + Pro????
I hate wasting money!!!LOL
Any advice appreciated by myself and others

DIRK.

Celeron processor, to my knowledge does not support the 266MHz front side bus, which is where the feel of speed comes from. get a processor that supports the FSB and you'll see a difference.

Why not get a socket A mobo then you can use a Duron cpu which out performes a celeron hands down or an athlon xp which supports 266Mhz FSB.
