ok, so my friend came to me w/ this question. he said that he performed a defrag, and after the defrag, all the music on his computer goes at fast speeds. He even says that little audio clip when you start the computer goes fast. I've never heard of this and I googled quickly w/ no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

bobby, defragging gathers up all the scattered pieces of a file and puts them together so your drive doesn't have to waste time locating them.
It's conceivable, since a lot of rewriting is involved, that in the process, your friend's sound card driver got corrupted and became the cause of the speed. Just to be on the safe side and rule out that possibility, think I'd replace it.
HTH.
