I installed xp sp2 and now when i plug an usb jump drive, xp will come up with the "Welcome to the found new hardware Wizard" and fails to install the drivers for any usb jump drive. Before installing sp2 it will automaticcaly installs the drivers and shows up the jump drive.
That is just one of dozens of SP2 problems over the months. See here for a possible solution .Good luck. http://www.scotsnewsletter.com/best_of/xpsp2links.htm

Thanks for the reply. I could not find anything related to jump drive issues. And I'm loged on as the administrator. The problem still exists
Best I can do is suggest you uninstall SP2, run all the cleanups in the articles and start again. We went through the anomolys of SP2 months ago with many problems and solutions. Good luck.
