When I start windows after instaling XP Pro with a clean format I get the screen when I start up "what opering system would like to run XP pro or XP" You click XP Pro and it start just fine, if I click XP it will not run and that is right I do not have XP on the machine. All I need to know is how to get rid of that screen ????

Well u shouldn't be getting that screen with a clean install....
Anyways, try this...
1) Right-click My Computer/Properties/Advanced tab 2) Click Startup & Recovery Settings button 3) Click Edit button and edit out the XP line so it reads like this: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
Now u won't get the dual-boot 'choice' when u startup the PC.

Keef nailed it. When installing you must have accidentally started an installation and cancelled it just after it started. It made the dual-boot entry, but was stopped before completion.
