I hope someone out there can help me. I dropped my laptop today and broke the screen. Thank God 2 days ago I ordered a new machine and it will be here in 2 weeks. In the meantime I bought an inexpensive LCD External Monitor. Everything went well setting it up. Except now my screen is not right. It is wide and squatty. From side to side the entire display will not fit on the screen. UP and down the letters are smashed down. Can someone tell me how to fix this. My OS is XP.

You will have to change the resolution for that screen and you may also choose another monitor in the settings. Start / Control Panel / Display
Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

Check the documentation for you new LCD to find the LCD's NATIVE RESOLUTION , then go into (right click on an empty area of your desktop) and select Properties.
You want to set your display properties to the LCDs native resolution.
Once you do, you should be good to go.
