I have an external modem which makes a hell of a lot of noise when I dial up. I want to turn the volume down or off altogether. I have looked at a few other posts and from their advise I tried right clicking on my network connection to bring up the properties to edit the volume but nothing happens I mean no box or any options at all are displayed. And when I am even online underneath the connection icon its displayed as disconected. I am using aol at the moment I think I might change soon but if you know how to sort it for now it will be another lesson learnt. Cheers.

its a bitch isn't it i know i have the same problem. just my luck though my modem had a speaker attached to it on the inside so i opened it up and cut the wire that leads to the speaker. NO NOICE. get a new modem if that doesn't work. changing from aol probably won't do the trick
