explorer.exe use 100% cpu

hi, i have a problem. explorer.exe uses 100% of my cpu even when idle. this happens after i open windows explorer. can anyone help? thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with a 2.4 GHz, 512K PC2100, RAM NVDIA GeForce 4 Ti - totally worked. I thought it might have been a virus that had slipped through Norton, but this fix worked no problem first time... Good thing too though - in my eagerness to try this fix I spaced my key (in other words backup the registry first!).
