Posting a question for my brother.

Hello,
I installed IE7 on my cousins computer today and after the restart when it logged in again the desktop and the start menu was gone, so now I have to open programs with Ctrl+Alt+Del. I tried using the task manager to open EXPLORER.exe but the same error came back. Here is some information about the problem:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2096 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2096 Offset: 0001ddf1
I have searched on Google to solve this problem but none of them solved it.
Please can anyone help me by providing me any update or something that can fix this problem?
Philip

I'm posting this for him because now he can't even get the task manager to open and I'm not at the same location in the world, so I'd be glad if someone could perhaps help us out here. What to do?
Thanks.
/Kimmi

Restart in Safe Mode and uninstall IE7.
