My computer had difficulty shutting down recently (I know thats vague, sorry!) - when I managed to get it rebooted, explorer.exe was using 99% of CPU time before I'd done anything else. Eventually, logging out my user and logging back in worked - first, explorer.exe was just taking small amounts, second time back to normal.
I'd like to have an idea of what caused it, to prevent it happening again (big thesis to write!). I've searched around, but to no result - its certainly nothing to do with avi's or viruses. I've also been told SP1 doesn't solve the problem, but that might be bad info.
Thanks!

It's probably explorer.exe cleaning up after a flawed shut down. Just make sure your computer shuts down properly and it shouldnt reappear.
