Explorer.exe Application error

Recently (I would say 2 days ago) whenever I try to open a window of a folder or windows explorer by pressing windows logo + E I get the following error message:
The instruction at "0x031c415b" (value changes) referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".
Start at the event viewer for clues. Consider using a system restore point or backup to a time when it worked. Might use sfc.exe /scannow. Might check drivers with (I think) sigverif.
