Hello Everyone,

Been a long long time since I had a problem. Whenever I log into Windows and after the desktop loads, a window appears as if I had browsed to it. I know I left this window open once before I shut down and since then it comes back everytime I reboot. I used to know how to fix but I cannot find a solution. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

cartman, Is the explorer window that opens the System32 directory and are you using a Dell computer?

Start/Control Panel/View Tab/uncheck "restore previous folder windows at logon"

cartman, If it's the Windows Explorer's System32 folder opening at startup go to the link below and follow the instructions under the Resolution section.

cartman, Another possible fix I should have added to my Response Number 6 above is to go to the link below, scroll down to line 260 right column and download & run the "System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot" .vbs file. Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

Thanks for the help everyone. But it's not that folder. I left my Symantec folder open when I rebooted and since then it comes back every time.

cartman, Did you try a System Restore to the closest date prior to when the problem started?

Thanks Chuck 2!!!!!!

That did it! VPTRAY.exe was in my run key and when I enclosed it with quotes " ", the problem went away.

Thanks!
