Guyz,

Problem is I acn see a lot of viruses in my comp as I browse physically. like an-u-suck-it.txt.pif,Win+Crack.rar.exe, etc.

But neither stinger 2.4.7 nor trendmicro officescan is able to detect them during a scan.

and it is multiplying.

whats more is as I am browsing through the infected folders, or using the search facility for finding the virus files, explorer.exe takes up 100% of the CPU usage in the processes tab of the task mgr.

the comp is hung. only if i terminate explorer.exe and restart it, does my comp come out of the coma state.

plz give suggestion.

jayz

Try booting into safe mode and running Stinger this will prevent any programs from loading and executing . Some kind of downloader trojan appears to be loading everytime you start up explorer, so maybe it worth a shot. Otherwise your going to have to do a clean wipe and start over sounds like thats a crack site you got that from.

Unfortunately, in a situation such as that one where you cannot remove viruses with virus scanning utilities; it is neccesary to reformat and re-install Windows. That may be the only way to eradicate the viruses 100%.

Also, you may want to try out Firefox. There
are issues "in the air" about Firefox and vulnerabilities
that could be exploited by hackers etc, but I haven't experienced one browser hijack, page re-direct, malware or virus since using this browser. (of course I download rarely and I am a stringent user of virus/spyware scanners.

Make sure you run a check on a daily to weekly basis to ensure you aren't infected. Also, you may want to try either Adaware or Spybot as they both have realtime protection abilities that protect your system files and registry from unauthorized changes.

ya i tried booting into safe mode and then running stinger.. but it didn't work either.

but in the safe mode, i deleted all virus files manually from the command window through dos commands.

will have to check whether it works or not.
