My Windows Explorer seems to be giving me some trouble lately. Everytime I attempt to open My Documents\My Music\R&B I get an error message saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
For more information it says "AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 0001888f"Going into technical information it says that The following files will be included in this error report: C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\4274_appcompat.txt" and that file doesn't exist!
It then says DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Another time when I attempted to open the same file it came up with an error window saying "Runtime error 216 at 01CF5E7A"
I can still play the songs in that file I just can't view them in Explorer and it bothers me slightly! Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Explorer has recently being doing the same thing to my landlady's gateway computer, when trying to view a music folder...
She had the folder in thumbnail view, when switching it to a tiled view, it seemed to fix it.
Try that?

Just tried that. It fixed that problem but now Windows explorer is closing for no reason. I have the view in Details mode. It doesn't seem to matter what I click on Windows explorer well either simply disapear, completly freeze up using all availble resources or say that the program is not responding and needs to close.
Seeing on this site that having a CPU that is too hot may cause this. I do get that message every now and again when I boot (I was warned about one of the fans being tricky when I bought it) but that fans all seem to be fine. Could it be something else?
