recently my computer has been taking ages to start, and has been hanging a lot on certain things, like when i right click, open a program, etc.
what i have noticed is when i run task manager, i find 2 explorer.exe running, one will show 99-100% usage, the other runs normally. when i close the high explorer, everything works fine.
i have used msconfig, spyware programs, and did a virus scan, and all seems ok.
does anyone know why i'm getting 2 explorer's running?

i'm baffled!!

well there is two reasons why you could have 2 explorers running. the first is that you have your normal explorer that is running and you have a folder for file browsing open, and the second reason would have to be a virus...esp. if its running at 99%...thats never a good thing...or maybe your proccessor is over heating...millions of possibilities..

tried virus scan, nothing showing(im using mcafee 7)
what i have noticed is that when i open another folder or file, another explorer starts?
also, there is one file that when i try to delete, it says it is being used by another program, the file is an mpeg, and no relevant programs are running for that type.

if you find that the cpu starts going up to 100% when dealing with movie files, then a simple piece of registry editing can fix the problem. simply delete the following registry key:
"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler"

remove the obvious to reply :)
