Comment:

There are some stupid DOS-based games that run only in full-screen mode and you can't exit those games by pressing ESCAPE or ENTER or ALT+F4. On top of that, no readme or help files are provided by the developer.

What are the safe ways to exit such games? I once tried ALT+ENTER to change from the full-screen mode to the windowed mode, but that damaged the video card.

XP has no MS-DOS, probably your problem.

DOSBOX may be a better choice of emulating DOS

Concept of the day?

Since it's DOS based, run it in DOS and when you're done use the ON/OFF switch.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

You can try pressing the Windows key (Ctrl+Esc might also work).

I second the DOSBox recommendation.

I use ctrl-alt-del to get the Task Manager.

I don't see how using alt-enter could damage the video card. It was probably just coincidence that it failed at that time.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
