hi i have this problem that my exe files have been changed to a txtfile. so now i can't run my programs through clicking their icons but they still work if ran on other means like using the right click method except my KASPERSKY antivirus and other certain programs. when i right click on an icon the word OPEN or OPEN FILE is missing so i can't open it. pls help me. tanx and more power! i can't also run my control panel
p.s i used this on the cmd prompt before my problem happened

open cmd prompt
type: assoc .exe=.txt
press enter
type:assoc .cmd=.txt
press enter
type:ping:(website).com (email your hacking)
press enter
type:ping:(website).com (desired password)
presto chango
try it out

i just got it from the net,

the icons of my programs and exe files were replaced by the icon that looks like a blank sheet of paper with 3 icons in the middle.

Did you try resetting the associations?

The instructions are in the last sentence below:-

ASSOC [.ext[=[fileType]]]

.ext Specifies the file extension to associate the file type with
fileType Specifies the file type to associate with the file extension

Type ASSOC without parameters to display the current file associations.
If ASSOC is invoked with just a file extension, it displays the current
file association for that file extension. Specify nothing for the file
type and the command will delete the association for the file extension.

It is likely your icons will eventually revert back.

If you're in a hurry, a slow-but-sure way to bring them back is to re-boot in Safe Mode, then re-boot again in Normal. This forces a rebuild of the IconCache database file.
