Hi
This set-up has worked and does still work on NT and 2k boxes!
I'm using Exchange 2003 for internal mail only.
I use a 2nd option under Outlook accounts to fire off mail directly over smtp and not via the Server, i.e. a router/default gateway!Just set-up an XP ThinkPad.
Once I connected it to the Network XP somehow without warning Installed Outlook 2003 and overwrote my original Outlook 2002 install!
Any info on this would be welcome?Main problem is this Outlook 2003 doesn't seem to look at the 2nd option under mail accounts! I.e. Exchange is 1st, smtp is 2nd and it will not look at this when a send and receive is started etc...
Please don't question the config, this is a requirement!
If I move Exchange down I can just fire off mail over smtp as normal, and the same applies to internal mail over exchange if its top of the list.
Outlook 97 and 2002 will not require you to specify an account when you're creating a new mail, it just looks at both in turn and sends internal if exchange is 2nd!
I know Outlook maybe shouldn't be set-up like this but it worked before on previous versions!
What am I doing wrong perhaps?
Thax for any help on this?
