Specs: Windows server 2003
What is the key to allowing your domain networked mailboxes on exchange such as jane.doe@mydomain567.local to communicate with my web domain I am setting up a lab but want to be able to send to any one outside of the network with a valid email address. I have an exchange server, AD and DNS server set up In my network. I am using Comcast dynamic service 16mbps with a router and all static ip addresses. If my domain is .local will that affect my email addresses? I do own a domain but do not know what to do with it as far as hosting an exchange server goes.

Someone just help me get started.

Thanks in Advance!
