Comment:

When one of my users tries to save a document in Excel (Office XP) he always get the following message

"Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any other documents because there is not enough memory or disk space"

Since there is more than enough disk space (over 18GB free) and RAM in the pc...And all othe parts of the office suite work just fine, I am a little confused.

I have tried the following:

- Office "Repair"...Result: Nothing changed.
- Office "Re-instal"...Result: Nothing changed.

Can anyone here think of some things I could try and do to solve this problem...?

I know this might sound obvious but has the user been created in Control Panel->Users? If not make sure they are set as a Standard User. Also in Explorer, if the filesystem is NTFS make sure that the users do have approriate rights to the hard drive.

Only two problems Larry...I am using Offcie XP not 2000 and the problem is with Excell and not with Word. (Word works fine)

Besides as I said in my original post..."Since there is more than enough disk space (over 18GB free) and RAM in the pc...And all othe parts of the office suite work just fine..."

Any ideas..?

Yeah, you say there is enough ram, but Microsft says no.

I saw that you were using Excel, and XP not 2000, but most problems are related to Office and many of Microsoft's fixes apply to the whole suite.

I'll see what I can find, but since Microsoft changed it's Knowledge Base setup, things are really hard to hunt down.

Try this: Memory and don't be so literal. Some time you have to look at something esle in Microsoft to get to the real problem.

(Sorry, don't mean to be grumpy.)

I will try it and see what happens....

If not, I guess I will re-image the user's system....

You're not being grumpy Larry...on the contrary...you are being very helpful..And it is appreciated.

Thanks

Scott
