everytime i run windows it shows message data's obsolete

Specs: Windows XP
Everytime i start my p.c it shows that database are obsolete, on the other hand i have updated it many many times , but don't know whether the way i chose is correct/ not? so pls. guide me the detailed way with which i can update this for the whole period of one year as i have purchased it just few days back.

So, it sounds like your saying that your anti virus program's database is not updated. You have tried to update it but it doesn't update. You have just bought this anti virus and you have just installed it.

Most of the times that an anti virus program doesn't update is because there are viruses on your system already, your host file is corrupted, or your firewall is blocking the program.

Try to un-install what ever anti virus software that you just installed, also un-install any other security software, fix it software, optimize software, registry cleaner software, and anything else that you don't need, tool bars, screen savers, widgets, etc...

Now re-install your security software.
