hi all
i formatted my e-system laptop and installed xp pro i have sorted sound driver and video but cannot find the ethernet controller. i have tried all kinds of controllers, sis 900 is supposed to be the one but it doesn't work.
been trying for three days now
been to the tech guys website as it is a pc world laptop still no joy
tried everything i know
any help greatly appreciated

there is no manufactures website
its a pc world laptop but i bought it secondhand
they have a site called tech guys which i've scoured for 2 days and got nowhere

Download SIW and transfer to the laptop via CD. SIW should give you the info you need.

It should take you right to the download of the ethernet controller.

That'd be one heck of a feat, without a functioning ethernet controller.

I had the same problem when reformating an EMachine - There is a UK website
http://uk.emachines.com/ Though it does not list all there UK machines.

For your E3086 This should be your Network/Ethernet driver:

http://downloads.emachines.com/driv...

thanks for the replies folks
tried all of the above
unfortunatly none of them worked
tried connecting modem with usb
windows picks up cable modem
but cannot find driver
its ridiculous
