Hi,
Can somebody please let me know from where I can download for free the ESS SOLO-1 ES1938S sound driver. Drivers present at www.esstech.com do not work. Save me from throwing the card out and buying a new one.

visit windows update if you can:

They will have your driver update? If not, then i suggest reading carefully what i says at the manufacturer's website.

Thanks for the info. I have checked the Win XP HCL list and it says this sound card is compatible. Hence they must have used a driver, but which one ??? I have downloaded drivers from www.esstech.com site but Xp simply ignores all of them and says driver not found. I don't know whats wrong or what else to do.

My ESS Solo-1 worked fine under XP without downloading any drivers. Its onboard audio, not a card.

Hi ,
I am having windows 2000 with ESS SOLO driver on my PC. But it is giving very low sound with head phones ( not able to hear).Do i need to download any other driver?

When i goto 'options->properties' of Sound control, there i see Mixer device as 'ESS SOLO '. There is no volume control for Headphones. Is this driver don't support head phones?

Other driver 'ESS maestro' has Headphone control.

Thanx
/JP

If your ESS SOLO-1 ES1938S is on a card (not integrated to the motherboard) then you can change the jumpers from 1-3, 2-4 to 3-5, 4-6. That changes the output amplification from line out to speaker out and should improve headphone listening.
