I had to use ctrl-alt-del to end a program that froze earlier today and while doing so came across a process with the name of E_SOHIC1.exe. I've tried doing a google search on it and looked on Microsoft's website and haven't been able to find anything on it. I was just wondering if anybody knew what this was.

Locate the file and right click on it and choose 'Properties'. Click the 'Version' tab, see if there is any copyright info or anything listed for 'Company'.
If the properties don't give any indication of what the file is, email me a zipped copy for analysis...click my name for the email addy.

Are you sure that you spelled that file name correctly or is it actually the file name below?
E_s10ic1.exe
(Epson)
Epson Status Monitor 3 for the Epson Stylus C42 Series of inkjet printers. In its version 3 flavour the Epson Status Monitor does not get installed automatically with the printer drivers – you go through a separate installation process. When installed the Epson Status Monitor 3 appears as a printer icon in the System Tray. Double-clicking on the icon enables you to check the ink level in the ink cartridges and also gives you all the specifications of your printer. Right-clicking on the icon, on the other hand, enables you to perform Nozzle Checks, Head Cleaning, and Print Head Alignment checks on the printer, as well as give you access to the “Printer Settings” dialogue, and modify the behaviour of the Status Monitor 3 itself.Tufenuf

Tufenuf I did spell it correctly but I do have an Epson C82 printer so I'm betting that that is what it is thanks.
