"Error write fault" could mean that either the hard drive is failing or that one or more RAM modules is faulty. Both can be tested with a bootable CD:

Hard drive test: download SeaTools for DOS and create a CD from the ISO file:

RAM test: download memtest86 and create a CD from the ISO file:

if you don't already have CD-burning software which can create a CD from an ISO file, you can use the free IMGBurn:

To run the testing software for both hard drive and RAM, boot the faulty PC from the appropriate CD.
To do this you may have to go into BIOS Setup and set the first boot device to CD/DVD drive.
