error with xp pro product key when Upgrading. Says "invalid product key". Ok then how come that same installation CD and the same product key worked on another pc ? So does that mean Microsoft will not let you upgrade for free ,but will let you install if your pc currently has no windows on it ?
or is it because the pc I am trying to upgrde from xp Home to xp Pro only excepts the original Home edition key ?
If so where can I find that product key ? because those Acer-xp-home CDs never asked me for a product key !! Im trying to upgrade xp pro over Home edition. However if I delete Home edition first ,I loose all my Acer drivers. Any way around this problem ?

The activation code is good for only one time.....One license per one computer.
You can use the installation CD with another license if you have one of the same type... Upgrade needs upgrade licensing Xp Pro needs XP pro license and so on.
