Hi, I am using Windows XP SP2.
I get the error message "Windows could not load the installer for image. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance" during the final step of the installation of my Logitech web cam (QuickCam Chat) on Desktop.
I have downloaded the latest software from Logitech and did a clean install as per their instructions but it did not help.
Logitech support says it is a problem with the Windows OS itself. I have the latest windows installer 3.1 (KB893803).
It does not seem to be a problem with the QuickCam software as it successfully installed on my laptop.

look into the hardware aspect of things. Specifically memory and processor. Also do a test of the new hard drive using chkdsk /f at the command prompt. See if that helps!
